Who knew? I know a tuba-player (tuba-ist?) who hiked the Appalachian Trail with his tuba, ran the Boston Marathon with his tuba, and biked across the U.S. with his tuba. Those tuba types are an interesting lot …
I’ve always known tuba players were a bit on the odd side, but this guy sounds nuts!
When I used to backpack (distant past, but I did two two-week trips with over 50 pounds on my back!) I left “anything oboe” at home. I’m sure the rest of the hiking world would have thanked me for that if they had known.
