I can’t listen to music too often. It affects your nerves, makes you want to say stupid nice things, and stroke the heads of people who could create such beauty while living in this vile hell.

Jeez, sounds like a crank to me.
That’s a great book (though I’m still only up to page seventy-somethingy). For music criticism, Alex Ross and Tim Page are my heroes.
I’m nearly finished at this point, but I feel as if I’ll have to read it again, and not too long from now; there’s so much to take in that I know I’ve missed a lot. I’m definitely loving the book!
