It’s so quiet, I don’t see the oboe in it either. Maybe we’re too close to the oboe to see the “impression” of the oboe.
Gee, maybe that’s it, Janet! I just wondered if the artist is thinking those look like oboe reeds …? I looks like it could be reed thread, but not staples. Hmm.
I thought perhaps it looked a bit like an oboe broken into little pieces by its frustrated owner, and of course then it would be a very quiet oboe indeed. But I have a very active imagination…
It’s not conical, so it didn’t resemble an oboe to this silly oboe player. But what do I know?!
Well, no wonder they got frustrated and broke it, then!
Or maybe the different diameter tubing was the artistic license version of a conical bore?
