Oboe Reed Suppliers
I’ve decided to have a page dedicated entirely to oboe reed suppliers. Please note that I have not tried all these reeds. I have tried some, but because we are all somewhat different in our reed tastes I’ll let you decide which ones fit you best.
Of course if you are dying to know what I think, I’ve just started a Reed Assessment page on which I’ll list reeds as I purchase them. Unfortunately this is a very costly thing to do, so don’t expect frequent updates!
If the dealer carries more than reeds I’ve sometimes linked to their reed page to save you some time. Just kind of depends upon the site and my mood at the moment!
Not wanting to be “American Scrape Only” since this site is viewed by all, I’m now in the process of adding the short scrape reed suppliers. (At this point only one has asked me to be included.) I will note all short scrape reeds, just to keep one of my students from purchasing those reeds. (Someday I’d like to try one to see what how it plays!)
Looking for bassoon reeds? Go here.
Rate the reeds you purchase! (This is not a part of my site, but is worth a look see. It would be even better if readers here would join in the ratings … so far I don’t see enough ratings to really make it reliable.)
Michael Adduci: Michael doesn’t have a website up and running (soon, he hopes) but you can contact him this address. I’ll update this when he has a site up. Here is his address: P.O. Box 720067, San Jose, CA 95172-0067
